Cellist Ignacy Grzelazka appears as a soloist and recitalist throughout Europe and United States. He is a winner of the Grand Prize, Best Solo Performance Prize and Best Chamber Music Performance Prize at the Allegro-Vivo Music Festival in Horn, Austria. His other awards include prizes at the International Kiejstut Bacewicz Chamber Music Competition in Łódź, Poland, the Robertson Violins Young Artist award in Durango, CO (USA), and Faculty and Friends Chamber Music Series award at TCU, Fort Worth, TX (USA). Most recently he won together with violinist Egle Jarkova and pianist Inesa Gegprifti at the Boston Conservatory Chamber Music Honors Competition 2010. He is a scholarship recipient from the Ministry of Culture in Poland, Austrian Culture Forum in Warsaw, Poland and the Ministry of Culture in Vienna, Austria.

From upcoming engagements he is invited to perform with the National Orchestra of Tirana in Albania in June 2012. He has also performed with orchestras in El Paso, TX and Durango, CO, and gave numerous recitals at important festivals and venues throughout Europe and United States. He has performed at the Royal Castle Hall and at the National Philharmonic Hall in Warsaw, Poland and Kilbourn Hall in Rochester, NY, among others. For several years he was a guest artist and a faculty member at the Music in the Mountains Festival in Durango, Colorado. He is a member of Xonor Trio, performing with violinist Yumi Okada pianist Rasa Vitkauskaite. He performed at the New Music Festival in Boston, Music in the Mountains Festival in Durango, Mexican Chamber Music Festival in Dallas, Warsaw Autumn Music Festival in Warsaw, among others.

Mr. Grzelazka received Master of Arts, Master of Music degrees and Performance Diploma from Chopin Music Academy, Texas Christian University and Boston Conservatory respectively. His teachers include: Kazimierz Michalik, Andrzej Bauer, Jesus Castro - Balbi, Rhonda Rider, and Terry King. He worked with and performed for artists such: Alban Gerhardt, Aldo Parisot, Wendy Warner, Jeffrey Ziegler, David Ying, Jamie Laredo, Sharon Robinson, Brant Taylor, Norman Fischer and others.

Mr. Grzelazka is a committed and dedicated teacher. In addition to being a faculty at the summer festivals, he has been invited to give master-classes in New York and Texas and have been a jury member of an international competition in Rochester, New York.

Mr. Grzelazka is playing on the copy of Andrea Amati cello from 1566 made for him by Wojciech Topa thanks to Davi-Ellen and Bruce Chabner sponsorship.
