Lindsey Stortz received her Master of Music in Cello Performance and her Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance and Bachelor of Arts in English from Texas Christian University (TCU) where she served as principal cellist of the TCU Symphony from 1999-2005. While at TCU, Ms. Stortz was the winner of the 2002 Concerto Competition and performed the Variations on a Rococo Theme by P.I. Tchaikovsky with the TCU Symphony, under the direction of Maestro Germán Gutiérrez. Ms. Stortz’s primary teachers include Brinton Averil Smith and Dr. Jesús Castro-Balbi.
Ms. Stortz also takes an interest in music administration and was an intern at Colbert Artists Management in New York City in 2004. She was selected to work as Scheduler for the Aspen Opera Theater Center at the renowned Aspen Music Festival and School during the summer of 2007. Ms. Stortz currently teaches cello privately for the Preparatory Strings Program of the Youth Orchestra of Greater Fort Worth (YOGFW) and serves as the Orchestra Manager for the YOGFW.
