Cellist Ignacy Grzelązka was born in Poland, where he began playing piano at age of 6 and cello at 12. In 2005, he graduated from F. Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw in the cello class of Prof. Kazimierz Michalik and Prof. Andrzej Bauer. At that time, he was already recognizable artist in Poland as a soloist and a chamber musician performing at National Philharmonic Hall, Royal Castle Hall, and Museum of Modern Arts in Warsaw, Poland and at Berlin Philharmonic Chamber Hall in Berlin, Germany.
He took part in numerous master-classes in Austria, Croatia, Italy, USA and native Poland where he was working with Norman Fischer, Jamie Laredo, Aldo Parisot, Sharon Robinson, Brant Taylor, Josef Luitz, Angelica May, Elias Arizcuren, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Heinz Holliger, Valter Despajl, Reinhardt Latzko, Tomasz Bugaj, Tobias Kuhne, Victoria Yagling, Kazimierz Michalik, Andrzej Bauer, Tomasz Wojciechowski and Tomasz Strahl.
He took part in Mexican Chamber Music Festival in Dallas, TX; Allegro Vivo Music Festival in Austria; Chain II- Witold Lutoslawski Music Festival and Warsaw Autumn Contemporary Music Festival in Warsaw, Poland.
Mr. Grzelązka is awarded Grand Prize, Best Solo Performance Prize and Best Chamber Music Performance Prize at Allegro-Vivo Music Festival in Horn, Austria; Faculty and Friends Chamber Music Series Award from TCU in Fort Worth, TX; Scholarship from Ministry of Culture in Warsaw, Poland; Prize and Scholarship from Austrian Culture Forum in Warsaw, Poland and Scholarship from Ministry of Culture in Vienna, Austria.
Ignacy Grzelazka is also interested in music improvisation, theatre and Internet. He is a creator of "The theatre of the Music Shadows", a co-creator of the "Dzień Śmierci Mozarta" theatre and a web designer.
